Hoop of Learning Courses
The following are some of the classes that students will take in the program:
CPD 103-Personal Development for Native Americans-3 credits. Develop an awareness of cultural roots, history, and traditions with emphasis on the shaping of personal identity, social, career, and educational decisions.
CPD150-Strategies for College Success-3 credits. Focus on increasing student success through college orientation and personal growth, study skills development, and educational and career planning.
COURSE PLACEMENT: ENG/RDG/MAT courses will use ASSET test scores for placement.
AIS105-Introduction to American Indian Studies-3credits. Class will deal with Federal/Tribal issues, tribes as sovereign nations, significance of oral traditions, overview of early impact on tribes, and social, economic, and education issues. (This class will fulfill a Social Behavioral Science requirement for a degree at CGCC.
