Mission
Is to connect and meet the needs of the non-traditional students on our campus. This adult learning may be returning after a break in their academic goals, re-careering, or just beginning their college experience. These students have unique issues and challenges that could benefit from the ongoing support services. Support services have been designed to assist with this students unique needs and challenges, transitional issues, and to assist in developing strong academic plans.
Program Role & Function
These student's brings diverse skills, knowledge, personal life experiences, and work history to the classroom and college environment. Support services have been designed to assist with this students' unique needs, and challenges they face while pursuing their academic goals. Working closely with staff , faculty, and specific departments such as, Career and Placement on campus to coordinate and provide a supportive academic and campus environment, personal skill building and training, as well as career advising. Receiving support and guidance while attending CGCC can be a great relief in not having "TO DO IT ALONE".

- Crisis or emergency situations
- Being referred through the Early Alert Retention and Success Program
Support Services provide may include:
- Individual or Group Intervention
- Individual or Group Short-Term Support Services
- Personal , Academic, and Career Advising
- Coordinating with campus resources to assist in Academic and Career planning
- Connecting student to "Worcs" Women's Resource Circle of Support a student support group on campus

- Difficulty transitioning to college
- Difficulty making a connection to their peer group or the college environment
- Difficulty balancing personal responsibilities
- Difficulty achieving academic or personal goals
- Need to explore personal, academic and occupational goals
Reasons Staff and Faculty may refer students for support services?
- When a student's presents themselves as being overwhelmed, stressed or showing signs of anxiety
- When a student begins showing signs of difficulty adjusting or transitioning to college
- When a student verbalizes confusion concerning their academic plan or goals
- When a student is showing signs of having difficulty focusing, maintaining or completing assigned tasks
- When a student shows inconsistency with classroom participation or progress
- When a student verbalizes needing assistance in dealing with ongoing life challenges
