The Lady Coyotes sixth-inning burst enough to top Arizona Western College, 8-0

The Lady Coyotes took down Arizona Western College 8-0 on Tuesday at Home after slamming Arizona Western College with five runs in the sixth inning.

Heather Shomperlen racked up three RBIs on one hit for The Coyotes. Shomperlen tripled in the sixth inning.

The Lady Coyotes' Kaitlyn Greco kept Arizona Western College off the scoreboard for all six innings she toed the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on seven hits while striking out three.

Cassandra Vela, Katelyn Tripp, Jennifer Hudson, Alexandra Vela, Elizabeth Deem, Alicia Boyd, and Shomperlen all collected hits for The Coyotes. Boyd led the team with two hits.

The game's last lead went to Lady Coyotes thanks to a fifth inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on an RBI single by Hudson.

The Lady Coyotes and Arizona Western College had no shortage of base runners on Tuesday, but it was The Coyotes that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-4 win at Home.

Arizona Western College out-hit The Coyotes eight to seven, but Arizona Western College stranded six runners on base.

Cassandra Vela had a good game at the plate for The Coyotes, going 1 for 3. She drove in one and scored one run. Vela homered in the third inning.

Jennifer Hudson earned the win and Kaitlyn Greco picked up the save throwing one inning of scoreless ball in the 7th for The Lady Coyotes.
