Overson helps Lady Coyotes down Glendale Community College 7-4
The Lady Coyotes topped Glendale Community College 7-4 in seven innings on Saturday at Home as McKenzie Overson had two extra base hits, including a two run home run.
Kaitlyn Greco got the win for Lady Coyotes thanks to six strikeouts. Lady Coyotes' pitcher allowed just three earned runs on eight hits and no walks over seven innings.
Kristia Murphy racked up two RBIs on three hits for Glendale Community College. Murphy singled in the first and fourth innings and doubled in the fifth inning.
Hannah Bapst, Cassandra Vela, Overson, Vanessa Ybarra, Katelyn Tripp, Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Tometich, and Alicia Boyd each got hits for Lady Coyotes. Overson led the team with three hits.
In the bottom of the second, The Lady Coyotes grabbed the early lead, 1-0. They got a spark in the form of a Overson triple, before before Vela singled, plating Overson.
The Lady Coyotes went up for good in the fifth, scoring three runs on an RBI double by Tometich, a sacrifice fly by Ybarra, and an RBI single by Hudson.
The Lady Coyotes out muscled by Glendale Community College, 16-7
Alexandra Vela did her best to will The Lady Coyotes to a win with a three-hit game, but The Coyotes dropped a 16-7 contest to Glendale Community College on Saturday at Home.
Vela had two extra-base hits for The Coyotes. Vela singled in the third inning and doubled in the first and fourth innings.
Roque Parker racked up two RBIs on three hits for Glendale Community College. Parker doubled in the second inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.
MEN'S BASKETBALL BEATS COCHISE TO TIE FOR THIRD
On Saturday February 4th, The Chandler-Gilbert Men's Basketball Team defended their home court by defeating Cochise College 87-83. Leading the Coyotes in scoring was Johnell Thompson, who put in 28 points, as well as 12 assists, 8 rebounds, and 6 steals. Logan Winter also chipped in with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks. After a see saw battle that saw 14 lead changes and ties through the first 39 and a half minutes, Brandon Ehlinger with 26 seconds left in the game, hit a corner three to put the Coyotes up for good. The win over Cochise put the Coyotes at 13-11 on the season, and into a tie for third place in the second division. The Coyotes take on Phoenix College at home on Wednesday Night at 7:30 PM.
