Coyotes Out Muscled by Central Arizona College, 14-6

Taylor Tometich went 2-2 at the plate, but Coyotes fell 14-6 to Central Arizona College at Away on Tuesday.

Tometich had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. Tometich doubled in the first and fifth innings.

Erin Ruiz put herself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for Central Arizona College. Ruiz tripled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

 

Vela's big day not enough as Coyotes fall to Central Arizona College, 16-8

Alexandra Vela clubbed two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry Coyotes to a win on Tuesday, as Coyotes fell to Central Arizona College 16-8 at Away in five innings.

Vela racked up six RBIs on two hits for Coyotes. Vela homered in the fourth and fifth innings.

The two teams combined for 24 runs and 25 hits, including seven extra base hits.

Central Arizona College came out swinging, scoring 10 runs in the first inning to jump ahead of Coyotes early.

Central Arizona College's Alex Romero was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. Romero doubled in the first inning and singled in the first, second, and third innings.

Melanie Dembinski recorded the win for Central Arizona College even though she allowed eight runs over five innings. The Central Arizona College pitcher struck out four, walked two and surrendered 11 hits.

Three runs in the top of the fourth helped Coyotes close its deficit to 15-3. and a two-run home run by Vela gave Coyotes life. Jenna Bodman was retired to end the Coyotes threat.

Five runs in the top of the fifth helped Coyotes close its deficit to 16-8. An RBI single by Alicia Boyd and a home run by Vela set off a Coyotes rally. Central Arizona College's Dembinski induced a McKenzie Overson ground out to close things out.
