CGCC Hosts African-American Student and Community Leader Reception

Chandler-Gilbert Community College will host its fourth annual African-American student and community leader reception on Thursday, September 18, 2008, in the college's Student Center Pavilion.

Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Gospel vocal ensemble, “The Few Good Men,” who deliver a distinctive style of gospel music that mixes the best of traditional along with a contemporary flavoring. Their unique sound and rich harmonies are reminiscent of other great gospel ensembles such as The Dixie Hummingbirds, The Winans, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, The Williams Brothers, and other diverse musical influences.

“The African-American student and community leader reception serves to maintain and strengthen relationships between the college and the diverse communities it serves,” said William Crawford, CGCC Vice President of Student Affairs.

This event is sponsored by CGCC’s Black Student Union and is free and open to the public. Attendees should RSVP by Thursday, September 11 to Sharenda Roam at (480) 857-5451 or via email at sharenda.roam@cgcmail.maricopa.edu.

CGCC is located at 2626 E. Pecos Rd. in Chandler.
