CGCC Offers Non-Credit Computer, Spanish, Health & Well-Being Courses

Computers, business, and foreign language are just a few of the fun and interesting non-credit courses that are being offered this fall at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

"Computer Basics" will teach students basic skills, including vocabulary, identifying computer components, how to use a mouse and keyboard, saving information, understanding how to use computer programs, and how to print. This course will be held on Monday, August 25; Wednesday, August 27; and Wednesday, September 3 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Thinking about starting a small business? "Should I Start a Business?" will provide information about how to start a business and what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Students will learn about the four parts of a feasibility study or a business plan, business structure options, business finance options, marketing strategies, market research, internet and other resources, and how to access the Maricopa Community Colleges Small Business Development Center (SBDC). This

course will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 25.

"Spiritual Connection" is a unique learning community experience which focuses on raising consciousness through recognition of your authentic self, release of past hurts, and awakening to your life purpose. This course will be held from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from September 3 through October 22.

Learn Spanish the fun way in "Light, Fun and Easy Spanish." In this course, students will learn Spanish through informal and entertaining activities that teach and reinforce vocabulary, expressions, and real communication. This course will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., every Wednesday from September 3 through October 8.

T'ai Chi & Chi Kung will teach students a series of gentle movements which increase the Chi energy in your body in a matter of a few weeks. Students report the daily practice of the T'ai Chi reduces stress, helps circulation and blood pressure, increases energy, and improves muscle flexibility. This course will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays from September 4 through October 9.
