Chandler-Gilbert Community College is one of ten colleges, two skill centers, and multiple satellite locations, which comprise the Maricopa County Community College District located throughout metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona. The District was established in 1962, with a single college and has since grown to serve more than 270,000 students annually in credit and non-credit programs, making it the largest provider of post-secondary education in the state of Arizona. Today, the District's colleges and centers offer comprehensive educational programs in professional, occupational, special interest, and continuing education curricula to serve the needs of the rapidly growing county area.

Founded in 1985, Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC), a comprehensive community college in Chandler, Arizona, serves the higher education needs of its residents at three locations in the Southeast Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area with transfer and workforce development programs, continuing education, and more. CGCC’s service area reflects a diverse multicultural environment and is experiencing burgeoning population growth. The College has built a culture focused on student success, employee collegiality and collaboration, and service to community. Academic freedom and responsibility are recognized as essential to fulfilling the College’s mission of advancing student learning. Recent accomplishments include opening new programs in engineering, teacher education, law enforcement, fire science, electric utility technology, biotechnology, sustainability, and nursing, while expanding existing programs in aviation, business, computers, humanities, arts and sciences.
Enrollment and Demographics
Chandler-Gilbert Community College has per-semester enrollment of over 11,000 with FTSE of 6,115. The College’s unduplicated headcount per year is approximately 15,700. In its recent past, CGCC has seen enrollment growth between 7 to 10% per year, with a current enrollment increase of approximately 12%. The College employs 320 people full-time, with 125 full-time faculty, 425 adjunct faculty, and has an operational budget of $37.9 million. Underrepresented student populations include 18% Hispanic, 6% Asian/Pacific Islander, 4% Black and 2% Native American Indian. Women represent 52% of student enrollments. The number of students aged 15 to 19 has expanded to 40%, with more than 30% aged 20 to 24. CGCC has approximately 540 international students.
Affiliations and Accreditation
Chandler-Gilbert Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is a member of the North Central Association (NCA). Its next reaffirmation of accreditation status is scheduled for 2017.
