JOHN SCHROEDER

John Schroeder is the Provost at Chandler-Gilbert Community College's Williams Campus.

John first came to CGCC in 1990 as an Aviation Maintenance Technology faculty member. During his initial involvement with CGCC, John was heavily involved with the infusion of instructional technology, development of curriculum and project documentation, and served as an FAA Designated Mechanic Examiner. In addition to his duties in the classroom, John was Instructional Design Facilitator for the college for several years, and served terms as Faculty Association President-Elect and President.

In 1995, John accepted an opportunity to be involved in business process design and technology planning and support at the Maricopa Community Colleges District Office where he served for eight years as Director of Strategic Information Technologies. John did presentations at several national conferences related to this work, served on the board of the Higher Education Users Group for three years, and consulted with other colleges regarding process design and technology planning.

John returned to CGCC in his new role in 2003. John serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Williams Campus. He is involved in all four areas of campus life -- community relations, instruction, student services, and administrative services and is tasked with oversight of college plans and initiatives as they impact the Williams campus. John is responsible for daily operations and planning for the Williams Campus and works closely with both ASU at the Polytechnic campus and the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport authorities to develop and sustain joint partnership projects.

Prior to joining CGCC, John designed, developed, and operated a program for the development of skilled aircraft technicians in a cross-cultural environment.
