DANIEL HERBST

Daniel Herbst is the Dean of Student Affairs at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.  Dan began his career in student affairs more than 22 years ago and recently served as Dean of Students and Interim Vice President of Student Affairs at Phoenix College before beginning his position at CGCC on June 1, 2011.   He enjoys focusing on student concerns and assisting students with the successful completion of their academic goals.

In addition to his positions in the Maricopa Community College system, Dan has held student affairs positions at St. Louis Community College at Meramec, Kaskaskia College, Washington University, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and Lincoln College.

Dan currently serves as President-Elect for the National Council of Student Development.  NCSD is the only national organization who sole function is to provide professional development opportunities for student affairs staff at community colleges.
