It could be said that Ralph Baldenegro is our athletic teams’ number one fan. A former CGCC softball coach and current lead groundskeeper, he contributes to student success by coordinating fundraising efforts for the athletes.
Through Soccer Village Foundation, Ralph has helped student athletes raise money for their respective sport by volunteering at events. The event coordinators then issue a check to the sport booster club. Student athletes have volunteered at car shows, concerts, NASCAR, golf tournaments, and ASU football games. Typically the work involves ushering, ticket taking, and security. So far this year, the events have provided approximately $3,000, which is split among the sports who worked it, which include baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s soccer. The remaining teams will come on board once they are in season.
