EOLT Training Classes: It was discussed that we did not offer too many classes this semester because of the rollout and training of the NSS and we would run the risk of low turnout and cancellation of classes. There was a discussion of a training class that was requested and will be led by Lori Gershik Safe Space Training on October 26, 2007 and November 16, 2007. We need to reserve a space to hold the class. There was an issue of whether or not this was an open or closed training class. Margie will speak with Lori Gershik to establish status of open or closed for this class. 2. Keystone Award Quarterly Drawing: Margie gave an update of the movie tickets to be given away for the quarterly Keystone Award. A question was raised about a public purpose form for the tickets. We need to clearly document the transaction. A suggestion was to transfer funds for the tickets. Margie will call Lois Garland regarding this matter. There was also a discussion of the documentation process for receiving and distributing the tickets. Trina suggested that Margie confer with Mark Mason and explain the process and obtain his approval for the same. 3. Monitoring of Tracking Employee Additional Training Courses: Margie reported that Dee Dee explained what she had learned about the process of tracking training, other than District led courses, of employees from the other colleges. Some colleges did nothing, some just kept Access databases. Brent commented that Professional Growth has a tracking system and the question was raised as to who does the entering, and what qualifies as proof of attendance at these training sessions. Brent said that he will call over to Pat Hynzeys office at District and discuss the Administrative Training Tool and how it is used, and who specifically utilizes it. 4. Progress Report on the Fall Festival: Brent has placed an order for the jumpy castle, the same one as last year with the palm trees. Cost will be $100.99. It will be set up between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. and it will be taken down at 7:00 p.m. Trina will create a requisition for this, it is the same price as last year and she will review last years requisition for reference. It was reported that Chris Schnick was going to discuss with the faculty to seek their involvement with the picnic, and perhaps sponsor either a cupcake or cake walk. Margie also said that faculty contributed towards the purpose of the meats for the picnic last year and would seek their assistance this year again. Margie reported that this year she reversed the order for the meats: 15 lbs of chicken and 20 lbs of pork meat, as pork was preferred last year. John in Aramark catering quoted approximately $20.00 more in price than last year at $179.22. There is a need for an official function form. Tom Nicole in regards to the volleyball tournament thinks it should be non-competitive with no trophies. There is a need to meet with Jim Dusek regarding the picnic setup. Sal and Steve should be involved in the discussion as they were here last year and assisted in the setup of the festival. A request was made for the Dropouts to perform again this year. Sandi Lien will follow up with this. Margie is going to speak to Trish about the possibility of an on-going marketing campaign to promote the fall festival.
