Will review and approve via e-mail. Current EOLT Course Offerings: - Review of Upcoming course assignment on 11/16/07 Setting the Stage for Success Brent to set up template and send to Sherri for marketing. - There was a discussion of the offering of cookies and water for the courses held here at CGCC. That practice will continue for the remainder of the fall course offerings. EDT will revisit the issue regarding the spring classes. - There was a review of the Safe Space Training Course. The course Safe Space Training session had 13 attendees. Safe Space II will be held on 11/16/07. It was determined that EDT will take on the responsibility for hosting the event. - All of the classes that were offered here at CGCC during the fall semester have been successful with no cancellations. Review of the Fall Festival - Brent and Eva Jean felt that is was a great success with 150 people in attendance. - Robert Everett had his I-Pod and demonstrated his fantastic DJ skills. - It was noted that Bill Guerriero and Bill Crawford represented the Administrators. There were several scheduling conflicts for that evening. - Food: Consider alpha assignments for side dishes, etc. This will help to avoid having too much of one thing and not another. There were too many desserts and not enough sides for the picnic. - People: There is a need for additional people to help out with the picnic and the organized games. Perhaps ask employees children if they are in need of community service hours. - Investigate the re-positioning of the volleyball courts to avoid having the sun directly in one teams eyes. - An inventory of picnic supplies, etc. This inventory could be helpful in future picnic planning: Water: There was 1 case of 24 bottles left over. Buns: There were 3 packs of 24 (72 total) left over. Apple Juice: There was 1 case (24 boxes) left over. Silverware: There is an abundance left over Tables and Chairs: There is a need for more to be set up. Meat: There was some BBQ left over Prizes: The bracelets and rings are good. Avoid yo-yos. - New ideas for consideration: Games might be added, such as shoot the ducks. Salsa contest perhaps making a donation to the United Way for a number of chips for tasting the various salsas and then voting for a winner A cookie or cupcake walk. Another suggestion in which to gain additional support for the Fall Festival would be to rotate responsibility and assign tasks to the different employees groups and ask the administrators and executives to help serve. Picnic planning needs to start earlier, perhaps in the summer. Spring EOLT course offerings: There was a lengthy discussion of potential courses that could be offered at CGCC for the spring semester. Criteria for consideration were: *Dr. Hesse would like us to host EOLTs courses on Risk Assessment and Risk Assessment Tools for the spring session; *Dr. Hesse would also like EDT to offer the MOSAIC series on a continuing basis, allowing all CGCC employees to have an opportunity to participate in the training; *Continue to offer a minimum of one Navigate Maricopa course previously not offered in the recent past to allow supervisors a local venue in which to participate and complete the series; *Survey data collected by EOLT regarding the preferences of courses and styles to be offered; *Go live date for the New Student System-February, 2008; *Blue Ribbon Panel mandated courses that employees will be required to participate in. While the schedule is not confirmed, it is anticipated that this will come out sometime spring 2008; *EDTs support to assist in producing opportunities reflective of the 2007-2009 College Goals. After extensive review of all courses available and participant preferences, the following it was decided for the categories of: Navigate Maricopa: Supervisor 101 (4 hours) Risk Assessment for Supervisors (3 hours) Risk Assessment Tools (4 hours) This course is an elective.
