No action action item continued Instant Recognition- Post meeting: Held discussion and it was agreed that an e-mail would be sent out to the campus as a follow-up to the delivery of the core values info and R&R program. (DONE) We discussed drawing the recipients from a hat for the movie tickets. It was suggested that the drawing take place on November 01 to gain additional attention and buy into the program. SEE Your World-Paz de Cristo project has been cancelled for November 04 & November 18. Kara Honaker presented information about Maricopa County Regional School District and a specific MCRSD school located at the Williams Campus. While she was participating in a service learning project, repairing the playground area, she noted that there is a great need for teaching tools, perhaps painting classrooms, reading time, resource library, backpack drive, etc. This school has a pre-school, 2-4 yr olds and K - 8th Grade. This school appears to have the opportunities that EDT is looking for in evolving a support network in which all employees can participate in community outreach. It was agreed that if other members not present today were in agreement, someone would then contact the "director" of the school, find out what type of needs could best match the logistics of the employees here, reserve a van and have members of the EDT group visit the site and meet with the director. Chris Schnick has volunteered to help draft an e-mail to the college; a request for interested participants regarding this project. Post meeting: Kara Honaker is working with Mrs. Mary Swisher. A tentative meeting is set for Tuesday, 11/08 sometime after 10:00 a.m. The "project" selected needs to involve something that ALL employees can participate in (especially our M&O folks and temporary and student employees). Things like repairing the playground area, painting classrooms, reading time, resource library, backpack drive, etc. all sound like great ideas. Hopefully something can be offered from 2p-6p or 3p-7p on November 18, so that employees may be able to take a little time off of work as well as give some personal time for this service project. Spring Calendar-The EDT members were all in agreement to host a maximum of three (3) EOLT workshops at CGCC this spring. The group felt that one workshop should tie into our core values; the other workshop could come from the supervisory area of development or perhaps there were other requests given to Margie for consideration and scheduling. In addition to a supervisory class, the others are listed in priority ranking with #3 being used as a replacement in the event that the #1 topic was not available. It was suggested that we consider faculty availability when making the schedule regarding our core values workshop opportunities. 1) Meet on Common Ground (2 Hrs) 2) The Art of Leadership: Take it Higher With Humor (2 Hrs) 3) Exploring Comfort Levels (2 Hrs) NEXT MEETING: Monday, November 14, 2005 2:00 pm 4:00 pm Location: B111
