A physical item such as a plaque on stone (petrified wood in C-Courtyard) with something engraved on it such as, those who came before or some other item to honor Rueben. The group discussed the concerns to ensure equity to all employees and explained that the committee had to review all options and present final recommendations for consideration to the president. To date, an employee memorial had been briefly discussed. It is EDTs current position that they are not able to finalize recommendations for implementation at present. However, this should not delay Renees desire to honor Rueben with some sort of memorial. Some suggestions to honor Rueben would be to donate books to the library. These books could relate to gardening. Or perhaps there would be a piece of art or stain glass that would best represent Rueben and this could be donated. This employee memorial agenda topic will need to be carried forward for future discussion. Various options discussed included scholarships, benches, fountain w/tiles, wall with or without niches and planting a tree with or without a plaque. Considerations for memorials are: 1. Died while in active duty - CGCC being the last place of employment. Ex: Cheryl Sooter, Dave Berger, Al Brown 2. Retired from CGCC 3. Worked at college, went to other college and then passed away 4. Regular (Board Approved) Employees vs. Temporary, Student, and Adjunct Employees 5. Number of years of service It will be necessary to ensure equity and be enduring in nature. EOLT Course Offerings-Margie and Trina traded events. It is believed that Trina will be handling the Creating a respectful work Environment. Brent will contact Beth E. to gain the marketing piece for Trina to use if shed like. The EOLT Spring request deadline is 11/16/2006. We will be holding the MOSAIC classes again and it would be good to host the Hire the Best Workshop. This will be finalized soon to meet the November 16 deadline.
