CHANDLER-GILBERT COMMUNITY COLLEGE EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT TEAM June 19, 2006 2:30 4:00 pm, B102 Present: Brent Bartel, Sherri Basha, Trina Larson, Sandi Lien, Margie Mesanko Customer Service Initiative-In support of the Golden Marketing study, emphasis on customer service is a college priority. Marybeth Mason requested that EDT look into a customer service workshop to offer the college. The district EOLT has a program called Connections: The Quality Service Training Program for College Employees. The 10.5 hours program incorporates a workbook for the employee to use. A rough estimate of $17.50 per workbook was mentioned. Marybeth Mason has suggested to College Employee Services that CGCC pilot this program. A meeting is set for 7/5/06 for Emily Weinacker, district EOLT rep, Margie Mesanko, Marybeth Mason, Brent Bartel, and the Golden Marketing Customer Service subcommittee chairs, Doug Bullock and Annie Jimenez. Some items of considerations are: break the delivery of the program up into 3 half day sessions; devise a method in which to measure the progress of the program; present this pilot to all front line employees first and then extend this training to all other employees; assign a facilitator to present the program on a periodic basis; and, add a customer service piece to the New Employee Orientation. MOSAIC-Maximizing Our Strengths as an Inclusive Community-The first phase (sessions I and II) of the program was held via Summer Institute (for faculty) on 5/22; 5/23; 5/24; 5/25. We are currently holding another session of the first phase (sessions I and II), scheduled 6/8; 6/15; 6/22; 6/29. This series was moved from a morning time frame to an afternoon time frame and has received the presidents endorsement. Attendance has been good. Approximately 20 22 have been registered. We are set to hold the second phase on Friday, 9/22/06 (IIIa) and Friday, 10/27/06 (IIIb) in the afternoon. Location SC140-144 has been requested. Sandi will check on room assignment confirmations. The MOSAIC series will continue to be hosted in a round robin fashion. EDT will need to continue to market the series. In addition to the fall course offerings, one more supervisory workshop will be chosen to assist the CGCC employees in the completion of their navigation stamp. A question was raised as to whether or not whether or not there was a matrix which would show all of the classes that CGCC has hosted. Sandi will check with Beth Eberhardt. Assignments have been created to ensure the success of each event. The assignment will include the marketing of the workshop, room set up, communication(s) with the facilitator of the event, working with John of Aramark regarding any refreshments, media needs, and R25 reservations. Brent has access to and will send the assigned party the number of registered attendees for each event. Trina will begin by reserving the locations for the fall calendar, submit requisitions for the September and October MOSAIC refreshments, and prepare a public purpose form for light refreshments and supplies in which to serve any refreshments offered.
