No action action item continued Instant Recognition- A name has been drawn from pool in December for Keystone Award prize. The announcement of the drawing is pending confirmation from last known supervisor as to whether or not employee is returning in January. Discussed producing a list of Keystone recipients and holding a drawing for prizes but would require a solicitation of donors to ensure adequate quantities of prizes. Sandi would like to donate a new coffee pot and candy filled cup to the cause. Trina will check with Linnea Starks to see if she is able to assist in creating a letter to hand deliver or send to potential donors since Carol Carter will be out of the country for awhile. We further discussed the monthly e-mail that would go out to the college announcing the reward recipients. A person to send out the notice was not identified. Spring EOLT Calendar-Brent confirmed that EOLTs responsibility is to gain attendance of a particular class. It is then the colleges responsibility to reserve all necessary equipment, room, and ensure that set up is conducive to class/instructor requirements. CGCC is set to host 4 events. These are: 02/07 Meet on Common Ground (Course Category-Diversity) 9:00 am-12:00 noon SC140-144 02/28 Managing Performance: Setting the Stage for Employee Success (Course Category-Supervisory) 1:00 pm-5:00 pm SC140-144 03/23 OSHA: The Supervisor's Role (Course Category-Supervisory) 8:00 am-12:00 noon SC140-144 06/08 Exploring Comfort Levels (Course Category-Diversity) 1:00 pm-3:00 pm SC140-144 A suggestion was to rotate responsibility per event to ensure that the reservation met the needs of the host/hostess. No further action was taken. SEE Your World-Delivery of gift donation in December went well. Pictures were taken and some were shared during the all employee meeting. Sandi shared the project with the employees at the all employee meeting and there have been good responses in support of the project. The next steps for implementing a possible work day and additional service opportunities would be to check into liability issues; check to see if the childcare requires fingerprinting of visitors/volunteers; and, confirm any other responsibilities and/or concerns. Sandi will call the childcare director, Mary Swisher. Brent will check with contacts at district. Spring Picnic-The picnic is set for 4/21 and will hopefully be re-energized by trying a Luau theme. Sandi has checked with Brenda Croteau to find out whether or not there would be any difficulties in holding it at the campus. We have been cautioned to ensure that we have committees for set-up and clean-up so that it is not assumed that the M&O group would be responsible for the event. There is only one possible event set in the PAC that may conflict. Sandi will make calls to confirm. Sandi will reserve rooms and grounds. The group discussed holding possible children and adult activities such as ping pong, limbo, sidewalk chalk, face painting, beach balls, learning a Hawaiian dance, etc. The picnic/luau could be prefaced to promote employees wearing their Hawaiian shirts, Bermuda shorts, and sandals that Friday. A Hawaiian shirt contest could be held at the luau for the ugliest, most authentic, most colorful, etc. Food served at the picnic could be themed as well. Discussed the possibility of having menu items conducive to the luau theme and will work with Aramark to have enough BBQ sandwiches and we could ask the employees to bring fruit and veggie trays. We may want to eliminate soda and substitute Hawaiian punch and bottled water instead. We will look into obtaining coconuts, pineapple and possibly poi for the event. Margie has discussed the volleyball tournament with Tom and Floyd. We currently have one set of poles and Floyd can make another set. Tom will obtain nets and balls. Brent has agreed to check with the Williams Fitness Center to see about using their nets. Margie and Sandi will take a closer look as to how to set everything up. All are in agreement that we will want to keep the gathering together and not have the activities separated on campus grounds. NEXT MEETING: Monday, January 23, 2006 2:00 pm 4:00 pm Location: B102
