SANDI 1) The Team welcomed Pam Davenport and Darby Heath to the meeting. They were giving an update of the Renewal and Reflection meetings and in particular the spring semester meeting on January 4, 2008 where there were 40 participants. The question posed to the group was how to grow the R&R initiative and get more people involved. The main objective of R&R is to inspire people to do a better job in performing their responsibilities and to bring a holistic, integrated approach to their work contributions. Some of the topics explored were: What is the mission and purpose How can EDT help in this initiative How can we get more people to attend Perhaps get manager approval and encouragement to attend these sessions Perhaps a name change It was explained that this is a formation based upon the Richland College model. The CGCC R&R meetings are an ongoing process - meeting once a month, which is three times a semester. It is not structured; it is an ongoing session with smaller circles as an option. Darby and Pam are trying to make it convenient for all to participate. It was also stressed that this is not just for faculty, but all employee groups, PSA, MAT, M&O, Crafts, College Safety and Faculty, all are strongly encouraged to attend. It was concluded that marketing is very important to the success of this initiative. It is necessary to establish the importance that this is to become part of the CGCC fabric. It was suggested that if all of the Administrative leaders would become involved in spreading the word, or perhaps a well placed email from the President or VP could lead the greater promotion for the R&R Also suggested was a web presence for the R&R for information and testimonials. Pam and Darby shared that there will be a Data and Formation Retreat, away from CGCC, on April 4, thru 6, 2008, for approximately 25-30 people, at the COD Ranch in Oracle, AZ. 2) The EDT assignments for CGCC Spring course offerings are as follows: 02/08/08 Communications Skills Boot Camps 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. Sandi Lien (SC103) 03/21/08 Safe Space Training 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Diane Yost (B172) 03/28/08 - Safe Space Training II, - 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Diane Yost (B172) 03/28/08 Meet On Common Ground 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Brent Bartel (ATC136) 04/09/08 Risk Assessment Tools 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Carol Crane (B172) 05/14/08 7 Habits of Highly Effective People 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. Brent Bartel (L226) 05/21/08 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (cont) 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. Brent Bartel (L226) 05/28/08 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (cont) 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. Brent Bartel (L226) 06/05/08 Large Passenger Van Training 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. District Personnel (B172) It was decided that an EDT team member will purchase a case of water and a bag of assorted candy for offerings at the courses. It was commented that this was one of the WIGS for this year and Rewards and Recognition has been on the agenda for quite some time. It was mentioned that given the minimal time available, we may want to look to a subcommittee to focus on R & R End of Meeting. NEXT MEETING: 2/11/08 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in B102
