CHANDLER-GILBERT COMMUNITY COLLEGE EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT TEAM August 6, 2007 2:30 to 4:00 pm, B111 Present: Dee Dee Tapson, Eva Jean Smith, Sandi Lien, Margie Mesanko, Laura Jandebeur, Brent Bartel, Diane Yost. Action Items: Sandi: Check with Carol Crane to see if she could be on the notification workflow for printing of the Keystone Award Certificates Margie: Develop process for monitoring movie tickets given away in the quarterly Keystone Award drawing Brent: Speak to Chris Schnick about attending our EDT Meetings Brent: Put language to our goals DeeDee: Will check which college is entering data on classes and workshops (other than ELOT offerings) for their employees and determine who is doing data entry for employees in PeopleSoft. Minutes reviewed and approved. 1. Keystone Awards - Sandi displayed the re-designed Keystone Award certificates with the EDT logo larger and more prominent. The question was raised about adding Carol to the workflow to notify her when there is a recipient so that she can print out the Keystone Award. Sandi indicated that she would confer with Carol on the matter. Sandi also reported on the success of the hand delivery of the Keystone Awards to the current recipients. Margie reported that Cory Bartlett was the recipient of the quarterly drawing for the two Harkins Movie tickets. Margie said she will develop a process of monitoring the movie tickets awarded in the quarterly drawing. 2. Margie mentioned an issue of adding additional courses and workshops that an employee has attended (other than District sponsored ELOT classes) to be noted on their PeopleSoft list. She is not sure of who would be responsible for entering the information into their record. Dee Dee said that she will check to see which colleges are entering such information for their employees and who is doing data entry for employees in PeopleSoft. 3. Margie also described the On-Line New Employee Orientation that she is creating and would like the team to review for feedback. 4. Committee Recruitment - Brent said that he would like to wait until after the semester begins to send out an email for recruitment. He would like to see some faculty members on the committee and also involved in the picnic. 5. EDT Webport - Brent displayed the print out of the EDT Webport. There were some minor corrections that needed to be made, such as the arch being enlarged and the Mission and Vision were not being displayed. 6. EDT Meeting Schedule It was decided that the team would meet once a month on the second Monday of the month from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. 8. Brent described his Franklin-Covey tool for deciding the degree of importance of the team goals (WIGs): a) Focus on important b) Create a compelling scorecard c) Translate goals into actions d) Hold each other accountable all of the time. A number of goals and topics were taken into consideration. Sandi noted that the EDT had met and exceeded their goals from last year: Employee Recognition Program Facilitating and sponsoring all EDT events to maximize attendance. All but one of our classes offerings were held as scheduled and our attendance was up. An extensive conversation was held about all of the topics under consideration and the following was decided: a) Fall Festival b) EOLT course offerings c) Rewards and Recognition Keystone Awards grow the award and participation and recognition of customer service try to get management more involved. d) Work with customer service team to help facilitate the customer service initiative. Brent indicated that he will put language to the goals. The team decided that these focus would also incorporate the goals that President Hesse expects from the EDT: Improve documentation of and communication about college procedures and district policies; and Sustain a college culture that promotes our stated values. 8.
