All: Submit 2 names for consideration to serve on the EDT committee Upcoming Calendar-There is a strong possibility that Employment Law Essentials will end up being canceled due to current status of legal department and the anticipated limited coverage next month. The decision was made to host Managing Performance: Conducting Effective Performance Conversations which also is a part of the Navigate Maricopa Supervisor Development program. This will be held on 09/21 from 1:00 pm 5:00 pm. Sandi will follow up on room arrangements. Wildly Important Goals (WIGS)-Reviewed a variety of items such as rewards and recognition, service projects, morale boosting activities, employee development courses, Navigate Maricopa program, etc. for the group to focus on for FY 06/07. A total of three goals were set. (1) Facilitate and sponsor all EDT events to maximize attendance (See 06/19/06 Minutes assignment will include the marketing of the workshop, room set up, communication(s) with the facilitator of the event, working with John of Aramark regarding any refreshments, media needs, and R25 reservations. Brent has access to and will send the assigned party the number of registered attendees for each event.); (2) Emphasize, reinforce and achieve a greater emphasis of core values; (3) Increase membership. Customer Service Initiative-Emily Weinacker, district EOLT rep, asked for feedback in conjunction with the customer service initiative and a consideration to tie into the core value of Excellence when emphasizing customer service. The proposal may also include emphasis of Excellence as part of the second tier to the R&R program utilizing a departmental development plan for continued focus on excellence defined by all departments which incorporates an internal and external customer service piece into the plan. Ways in which to incorporate similar customer service emphasis at CGCCs New Employee Orientation were also mentioned. EDT is in consensus with Emilys considerations and will await further direction from the customer service focus group. CGCC and MLTS-Sandi presented Judy Weschlers inquiry and draft tracking form regarding the recognition of volunteer efforts of employees involved in service on their own time in addition to those who participate in MLTS and asked the group to identify individual(s) and/or a method in which to track personal time served from the College. The topic of tracking community service hours was broken down into two main areas. Recognition for internal community service vs. external community service; and, aspects of tracking service hours were both discussed. It was agreed that all community service should be recognized as well as a method in which to track volunteer hours for the intent of possibly publishing great things done in and for the community. It was felt that the tracking should be retained at the district level. Emily will meet with Julie to share EDTs discussion and support. Navigate Maricopa-College Specific Core-CGCCs Navigate Maricopa stamp criteria is to perform six hours of community service. This may be achieved through service learning, other volunteer efforts outside of your normal scope of work or through personal volunteer service. All participants will submit a form reflecting the type of service completed and signature of the coordinator or an affiliate with the project/agency in which the service is being donated to. The next meetings focus will be on recruiting. Assignment: Each person is to bring names forward at the upcoming meeting for consideration to extend special invitation to join EDT.
