Wordsmith WIGS Send Beth Eberhardt the college specific course. Sandi: Check on availability for music entertainment at Fall Fest Trina: Develop form for CGCCs Navigate Maricopa community service hours All: Contact proposed new members Navigate Maricopa-College Specific Core-An item of consideration was to utilize the Hiring the Best course for the colleges stamp. This would assist the revised Residential Faculty Policy which now requires anyone chairing a hiring committee to complete the course prior to serving in the capacity of chair. While the group felt Hiring the Best would also be a good choice, the community service piece discussed in the last EDT meeting best represented the mission and goals of our college. CGCCs Navigate Maricopa stamp criteria is to perform six hours of community service. Brent will send our decision to Beth Eberhardt. Service hours can be anything outside of job scope such as the Relay for Life, service learning projects, etc. Trina will develop a form to use in tracking the hours. Brent is aware of a couple MAT employees that are near completion of the program. It will be important to get the CGCC stamp criteria published. It is noted that when the administrative leadership promotes the EOLT courses, the attendance increases. A recent example would be the MOSAIC series. We had strong attendance at both Sessions I and II. Session IIIA & B are set for September and October. President Hesse would be happy to promote these events and welcomes EDTs request to follow any invitation to attend with a message of encouragement. The second round of MOSIAC course offerings is anticipated to take place this spring. Recruitment-The names of various employees were presented in consideration of asking that they become involved and serve on the EDT committee. It was agreed that each current member will make contact with the suggested names and try to build additional membership with active participation in which to accomplish EDTs goals. It is noted that EDT membership should try to reflect a reasonable balanced diversity to include employee groups, gender, and ethnicity representation when building the team. Employee Picnic-The theme will be geared toward a fall festival and utilize similar games and add a fall twist to it. Suggestions included adding hay bails and leaves for decorations and add apple bobbing, pumpkin decorating, and holding a department-bakeoff contest as activities. The VPs could be the judges. BBQ pork, chicken and baked beans can be obtained from Aramark and request that employees bring salads or other items that they wouldnt have to worry about heating. Beverage selection could consist of apple cider/juice and water. An added feature would be to have Dean and the Dropouts play. Sandi will check on their availability. This fall theme will tie in nicely to the core values. There was a suggestion to deliver apples to all departments and use this as a tool to reinforce the core values and encourage attendance to the picnic.
