 CIMS Project

Standard login with MEID
Project release date May 31

What does this mean to me???

  • Chandler-Gilbert login will be replaced with MEID. This will affect:
    •  Computer login
    • Website and Inside login
  • This will affect ALL accounts (Students, Staff, and Faculty)
  • Login to MEMO and other District systems will not change

College Identity Management Systems (CIMS) is a collaborative project with District ITS to move to using MEID as the standard login for all Maricopa systems. CFS login will remain unchanged.

This change has been piloted by several colleges already, and this Summer CGCC is scheduled to join them.

Would like to acknowledge Michael Berry, Enterprise Systems Administrator, for leading this project.

 Course software request

Course Software Request is a new, simple method for managing software in classrooms.

Our old process, Class-R, was tied to individual physical classrooms and required classroom liaisons to manage requests for a particular room.

As a result of a process improvement project that included current classroom liaisons, faculty members, division chairs, course coordinators, and support staff, TSS has designed a new system that is based on a relationship between software and a course, as defined by course coordinators.

This new system is in place now, and will be used for all software requests for Summer and Fall 2011

When all of the data has been collected, the new process will trigger a request to install software in the right place when course sections are moved into a new room or when new sections are created in new rooms. Baseline software (Microsoft Office, Mozilla Firefox, Adobe Acrobat, etc.) will be installed in all rooms.

Here is an example of the software mapping that will be of concern to course coordinators.

Action required:

Faculty (residential and adjuncts) if you need any NEW software for Summer or Fall that you are not currently using, please let your course coordinator know as soon as possible.

Course coordinators, if you haven't already, please coordinate with Ben Archer to collect the software needs for the course(s) you coordinate.
