Standardized MEID login access Students & Employees

College Identity Management Systems (CIMS) is progressing on target for a Summer I cutover. Please be aware that all college owned computers will require a configuration change to conform to the new MEID login... employee laptop users click here for a critical announcement.

This project is aligned with a OneMaricopa initiative to create a consistent user experience for students and staff swirling between colleges.  Chandler Gilbert will be the first college to fully implement CIMS, yet all sites must adopt CIMS to achieve standardization across Maricopa.

Special acknowledgement to Michael Berry, Enterprise Systems Administrator who is the technical architect for this project.

 Office 2010

 Summer Institute

CGC’s Technology Summer Institute’s, Course Design: Of Course, Quality Matters! aka Camp QM will be held later this month.

The
QM framework is all about course design, and making your course navigation and structure intuitive, which means that students' questions will be more focused on the content of your course.  Courses that meet QM standards are proven to improve student learning outcomes, retention, and student success.

During Camp QM we will learn how to implement research-supported best practices of course design into your course.  At the end of Camp QM, you will have a complete QM-ready unit that includes measurable learning objectives, resources and materials to teach those objectives, and assessments to measure achievement of those objectives, as well as a structure and framework for the rest of the course.

If you are interested in learning more about Camp QM, please contact Ben Archer or Linda Zehr

 Classroom Software Request aka CSR

In Summer I, we will be cutting over to our new process for managing classroom software, which is based on software connected with a course rather than with a physical classroom. This change came from TSS' Process Improvement project, which included active participation from several faculty members and division chairs.

Ben Archer has been busy helping to gather data from Course Coordinators/Lead Faculty to identify which software titles are needed to support individual courses. This effort is a significant change from the previous method, but once the course catalog is developed, it will be a much more proactive approach driven by class schedule changes.

Division Chairs are encouraged to help reinforce the course based concept with Course Coordinators and work with Ben Archer to develop and maintain the course/software list each semester.

For more information on this project, visit our project site on the Employee Intranet (Inside).
