Message from the President

Dear CGCC Family,

I’m pleased to announce a collaborative effort to conserve resources and reduce CGCC’s carbon footprint is currently underway between College Copy Services and TSS.

The results of these efforts will assist the college in achieving a 30% savings in annual costs associated with energy consumption, paper utilization, and device consolidation. This is an amazing reduction and I thank all of you for your assistance and support in doing so.

Our goal is to continue to serve your printing, faxing, and copier needs while saving energy and conserving resources. Thank YOU for helping us meet that goal and thank College Copy Services and TSS for leading the way.

Over the next few weeks, the following actions will be taking place at all three CGCC locations:

   1. Convenience copiers (30) around campus will be upgraded with new models, which will support network printing & faxing.
   2. Printers in low volume copy areas have been identified and replaced with HP multifunctional printers, which provide you with print, scan, fax, and digital send capabilities.
   3. 24 HP multifunctional printers will be deployed in various locations around campus with a focus on replacing single-function printers & fax machines.
   4. Two-sided printing will be the default as newer printers are installed (already implemented in library and computer lab).
   5. Later this fall, a college-wide management system will be implemented to help you monitor, track, and authorize print/image copies based on user authentication (ID, PIN, etc).

Departments will be notified with more specific information by TSS prior to these changes taking place. We appreciate employee support of these efforts as we continue to move towards a greener college environment. Together we are making a difference.
