Every CGCC student and employee has a network workspace.  This workspace provides you with a safe and secure way to back up and transfer any files you have.  Unlike local computers, the network workspace is regularly backed up and protected against hard drive crashes and operating system problems.  The only limitations on a user's personal workspace are size.

• Students are limited to 20MB of filespace on the network
• Employees are limited to 150MB of filespace on the network

Quota limits per individual employee also include files saved by them on group folders as well.

Internal Access (On-Campus, CGCC-Wireless Network, or VPN)

For college-owned Windows machines:
Users can access their personal workspace by going to "My Computer" and looking for a Personal Workspace drive (usually the "I:" drive).

For Personal Windows computers:

• Go to start-Run and type the name of the appropriate server:
  • For students: 
    
    • \\cg-student_workspace
  • For Pecos Employees:
    
    • \\cg-employee\wkspace\personal
  • Williams Employees:   
    
    • \\wc-employee\wkspace
• You may be prompted to enter your login information.  Use your MEID username and password.

For Macintosh computes:

• If you do not already have a "Workspace" shortcut on your desktop then,
• From the Go menu choose Connect to Server
• In the Server Address box type the name of the appropriate server:
  • For students:
    
    • cifs://cg-student_workspace
  • For Pecos Employees:
    
    • cifs://cg-employee/wkspace
  • For Williams Employees:   
    
    • cifs://wc-employee/wkspace
• You may be prompted to enter your login information.  Use Your MEID username and password.

External Access

These instructions apply to computers that are NOT connected via VPN, Wireless, or being on a college machine on-campus.  For this we have several options:

FTP:

• You have the option of using an FTP client if you know how.  If you don't or are unsure, you can also use a standard web browser to access files already on the network workspace.  To do so, type in the following address appropriate to your position into your webbrowser (Important! Replace "USERNAME" with your MEID:
   
  • For Students: 
    
    • ftp://USERNAME@ftp.cgc.maricopa.edu/cg-student_workspace/
  • For Pecos Employees:
    
    • ftp://USERNAME@ftp.cgc.maricopa.edu/cg-employee_vol2/WKSPACE/
  • For Williams Employees:
    • ftp://USERNAME@ftp.cgc.maricopa.edu/wc-employee_vol2/WKSPACE/
