PLEASE NOTE-Before you can attempt to print to a college printer, several criteria must be met:
- Only Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 personal laptops can access the college print server. Sadly Macs cannot gain access at this time.
- You must first register your network card's MAC address. Registering will allow you to connect to the CGC network and access resources - printers, workspace, etc.
Once the above criteria are met, you can access the printer list by following the instructions below:
- Click on the Start button, then Run
- Type the print server name in the Open dialog box based on your location and employee/student status. The server names are:
- Pecos Employees & Students - \\cg-printers
- Williams Employees - \\wc-employee
- Williams Students - \\wc-student
- Sun Lakes Employees & Students - \\sl-student
- YOU WILL BE PROMPTED TO LOG IN - to do so, the username is cgc\login ID and their network password. Note this is the login ID for the computers, not my.maricopa or blackboard. Have it remember your password if there is an option to.
- Click on OK. (There will be a short delay as your PC locates networked printers)
- Find the desired printer in the list. NOTE: click the View dropdown menu then the list item to see a condensed list of printers
- Double-click on the desired printer.
- Click Yes to setup the printer. NOTE: Your computer may not prompt you for this step.
The printer will now have been successfully added to your computer. Note that your computer may not remember the password. If not you may need to reconnect to the chosen above server each time you come on campus and need to print. For ease of printing we recommend saving your work to email or thumbdrive and taking it to the Library or B123 computer labs where we have many open computers to print from.
