•	Majors in Education CGCC's Teacher Education Program offers courses to get you started in any of the following traditional degree options: ·Early Childhood (Birth through third grade) ·Special Education (Grades K-12) ·Elementary Education (Grades 1-8) ·Secondary Education (Grades 7-12)
•	Areas of Specialization or Content Emphasis Education majors should plan for an area of specialization (18-24 credit hours in a subject field) as a field of expertise. •	Program Requirements Although there are no special requirement for eligibility for enrollment in CGCC's Teacher Education Program, students enrolled in program courses commit themselves to begin a serious course of early teacher training. As are required by university teacher education program and/or the Arizona Department of Education, the following are required of *all students.* 1. Federal fingerprint clearance 2. Attendance at a service learning orientation. 3. Taskstream electronic portfolio. 4. Grades of "C" or better on signature assignments and/or portfolio artififacts.
•	Advisement Don't neglect this very important step! Make an appointment with Program Advisor, Julie Garner . Select the appropriate AA-EE degree plan for you. The CGCC plan is strongly encouraged for new early childhood and elementary majors. Follow the required sequence of education courses.
•	Course Schedule CGCC offers courses in a flexible schedule format. Day, afternoon, and evening classes that meet once or twice a week are offered for the convenience of our students.

•	Financial Aid Here's the starting place for grants, scholarships, and loans. CGCC's Financial Aid Office is staffed with student-friendly employees who want to help.
•	Honors Program and Projects CGCC students enrolled in the honors program will need the information in the "Faculty and Student Handbook" found at this site. Instructors will assist students in the design of appropriate honors projects for those requiring one.
