STEM Scholarships 

High Tech Transfer Program Scholars (HTTPS) Project


NSF* Scholarships for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Program (S-STEM)


The overarching goal of the CGCC HTTPS Project is to provide specialized educational opportunities and services for academically talented full-time financial-aid eligible students with majors or program interests pursuing degrees in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Anyone with a financial need can apply. All HTTPS recipients will have an ultimate goal to complete an Associate Degree and/or transfer to a Baccalaureate Degree-granting institution, and a long term goal of entering the workforce in their skill area.

Average scholarship is $2500 per semester,
or $5000 per year
Deadline for Spring Semester is January 09, 2010

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled full time (12+ credit hours) at CGCC in a degree program at the associate level in one of the following disciplines. Enrollment must be full time for each semester a student received a scholarship.
    • engineering;
    • biological sciences (except medicine and other clinical fields);
    • physical sciences, including physics, chemistry, astronomy and materials science;
    • mathematics;
    • computer and information sciences.
  • Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher.
  • US Citizen or eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
  • You will need to complete a Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA). You must demonstrate financial need via FAFSA. Financial Aid office will determine your unmet need.

A COMPLETE APPLICATION INCLUDES:

  1. The completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  2. Scholarship application form PDF MSWORD
  3. Answers to the two questions in the application that describes your academic and career plans/goals
  4. 1-2 letter(s) of recommendation PDF MSWORD from a faculty member, high school teacher, employer or an administrator.
  5. Evidence for financial need (by applying for Financial Aid).
  6. Provide an official academic transcript indicating credit hours and courses completed or in progress and a cumulative GPA.

All of the documents mentioned above must be placed in ONE envelope. The envelope should be sealed and submitted to the address listed below. If any of the above documents is missing your application will NOT be reviewed. Please do not send the documents at different times. All the documents must be submitted at the same time. We do not accept any electronic documents
