  • 4Women.gov
    The National Women's Health Information Center website sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This site includes publications, a searchable database of health topics, a section on minority health, and links to government agencies and nonprofit organizations that produce reliable health information for the public.

  • Center for Reproductive Rights
    This site provides information pertaining to laws, legislation, and opportunities to take action on issues such as abortion rights, availability of contraception, teenagers' rights, and female genital mutilation. Reports, fact sheets, and articles are available.

  • Coalition Against Trafficking in Women
    Works internationally to combat sexual exploitation in all its forms, especially prostitution and trafficking in women and children. This site provides fact sheets, survivor testimony, and articles for topics like prostitution, sex tourism, and the selling of mail order brides.

  • National Abortion & Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL)
    National organization advocating for and providing comprehensive information on reproductive rights in the US.

  • National Organization for Women (NOW)
    NOW is dedicated to making legal, political, social and economic change in our society in order to achieve our goal, which is to eliminate sexism and end all oppression. Provides women's issues information including a concise time line of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), starting with its first introduction in the United States Congress in 1923.

  • National Women's Law Center
    The NWLC's mission is to protect and advance the progress of women and girls at work, in school, and in virtually every aspect of their lives. Advocacy areas include athletics (particularly advocacy for Title IX, the federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in education), child care, child and family support, education, employment, health, the justice system, reproductive rights, sexual harassment, Social Security, taxation, and military.

  • Office of International Women's Issues
    A U.S. Department of State department that coordinates the integration of women's issues into the broader U.S. strategic, economic and diplomatic goals. This site provides press releases, fact sheets, reports, and related material on topics such as women in Afghanistan and Iraq, and trafficking in people.

  • The Status of Women in the States
    This report is designed to inform citizens about the progress of women in their state relative to women in other states, to men, and to the nation as a whole. Produced every two years, it covers politics, economics, health, rights, and demographics; not all states are covered in each report. The site includes national, best-and-worst, and economic data reports, as well as the biennial reports back to 2000. From the Institute for Women's Policy Research.
