In 2000, the United Nations developed eight broad, but important goals aimed at improving social, economic, and
environmental conditions worldwide. The eight goals have 18 specific targets to meet and 48 measurements to
determine if the targets have been met. In a show of commitment, 147 nations signed an agreement to work toward the
accomplishment these goals by 2015. The CGCC Faculty Development Team has selected "SEE Your World" as a
College wide theme. As part of this theme, the College is incorporating the U. N. Millennium Development Goals as
issues for students to engage in dialogue about and take actions on these important issues. |
