CGCC is committed to a partnership in learning with students who are non-native English speakers. The English as a Second Language courses are designed to help foreign speakers from a variety of countries learn English by emphasizing four skill areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Students enrolling in ESL courses should be tested so they can be placed in the appropriate skill levels. Based on test scores, students are placed in the appropriate-level conversation, grammar, and writing courses. Call (480) 732-7159 to schedule an appointment for ESL testing.
