Honors Program General Information
The Honors Program at Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) provides the opportunity for academically motivated students to participate in challenging and rewarding educational experiences. The purpose of the Honors Program is to foster greater depth of thought in reading, writing, and discussion with faculty and guest lecturers that will better prepare Honors students to complete degrees or to begin their careers. A variety of academic scholarships and fee waivers are available to eligible Honors Program students.
Honors students at Chandler-Gilbert Community College form a community of bright, energetic and caring students who are committed to their classes, to the Honors Program, and to the college.
Honors Forum Lecture Series
The Honors Forum Lecture Series, guest lectures sponsored each academic year since 1982 by the Maricopa County Community College District, is one of many educational programs offered to the students, faculty, and the general public as a community service. The theme for the series varies each year and addresses a current cultural, political, or social issue. Chandler-Gilbert Community College Honors students participate in the Lecture Series and also host a reception each semester for one of the Lecture Series speakers which brings them into close contact with distinguished lecturers from many fields of endeavor.
Required First-Semester Honors Courses
New Presidents' Scholars must enroll in one of the special honors courses their first semester. Refer to your acceptance letter for the specific courses that meet this requirement. Fee Waiver Scholars may enroll as outlined by program requirements.
Honors Option Courses
