Junior Kayla Poe (pictured, Mesa, Ariz./Dobson) scored on a header from freshman Sasha Scott (West Hills, Calif./El Camino Real) assist to give Grand Canyon University a 1-0 victory over Dominican University in a Pacific West Conference contest at GCU Soccer Complex Sunday.
GCU got back to .500 both overall and in the PacWest. The Lopes are 8-8-2 and 5-5-2.
Junior goalkeeper Nicole Fares (Claremont, Calif./Mountain View) earned the shutout victory. She replaced junior Mileena Buchei (Stansbury, Utah/Grantsville), who was injured during pregame warm-ups.

Angela Streets
Awards: Mathematic Student of the Month
Personal: Angela comes to us from Westview HS where she's received 3 Varsity Letters in Volleyball, Basketball, and Track. She's received the Hustle Award, Most Improved Award, Most Valuable Student-Athlete Award and the All Tournament Team in Moon Valley. In Volleyball, she was named Honorable Mention and All Region. In Basketball, she was named 1st and 2nd Team All Region, and All State Honorable Mention. In Track, she took 3rd in Long Jump, 2nd in High Jump and 4th in Triple Jump. Her Basketball Team were Runners Up in 2006- 2007 and took 3rd in 2007-08. At Chandler-Gilbert CC, she was named Freshman of the Year. Angela plans to major in Athletic Training and enjoys sleeping and hanging with friends.
