 Science Tutoring

Welcome to CGCC's Science Tutoring

At the Pecos Campus, we are located on the second floor of the Library, Room LIB228.

At the Williams Campus, we are located in Bridget Hall, Room BRID115.

We provide free tutoring on a drop-in basis for CGCC students currently enrolled in:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics: Located in LIB229.

For hours and resources, visit the Math Tutoring webpage.

We also provide instructional support resources in the form of videotapes, software, printed materials and much more! Are you looking for a resource for a specific course? Check out the Resources link where you will find plenty of useful handouts and web links. Also, at the end of each semester, we hold an event called "Tutor-In" where faculty and peer tutors provide CGCC math and science students with extra help as they prepare for final exams. Check out the Tutor-In page for more information!
"I'm now going for a nursing degree, and I'm up at the tutoring center every day now getting help. Whether its chemistry, biology, or math, I find it incredibly useful. I have also made a lot of friends up there because you meet a lot of really good people. It's just a really great place to learn."

We do NOT rent calculators to students for the semester. Calculator rental is provided by the Mathematics Division.  Please see their website for current procedures.  However, we do have calculators that may be checked out for use IN THE LEARNING CENTER ONLY. You will need to provide a photo ID.  For assistance, please ask a tutor or greeter.

We try to maintain all current chemistry and biology textbooks for use by students while IN THE LEARNING CENTER ONLY. You will need to provide a photo ID. To checkout a textbook while in the center, please ask a tutor or greeter for assistance.
