The Coyote Fitness Center is a 4000 sq ft facility which offers a full line of cardiovascular exercise training equipment, resistance training machines for full body training, a complete free weight training section with Power Lifting racks, and an outdoor turf field for conditioning.
 
Fitness center staff members have advanced degrees in Exercise Science and Personal Training or Strength and Conditioning Certifications through accredited organizations such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

The following services are included to anyone who enrolls in the Fitness Center:

  • Exercise program design
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Body composition assessment
  • Body circumference measurements
  • Cardiovascular fitness assessment
  • Muscular Strength/Endurance assessments

​Coyote Fitness Center - How To Enroll

Credit - PED101WT Weight Training (1 credit)
Credit – PED115 Lifetime Fitness (2 Credits)
Non-Credit – Fitness 600-100 ($25) 
 
Group Fitness Option included in PED115 and PED101WT
Students enrolled in PED115 or PED101WT may purchase a $5 group fitness pass which allows unlimited access to group fitness classes for the semester.  Group fitness includes:
    • Yoga
    • Pilates
    • Bootcamp Fitness
    • Stretch and Relaxation
    • Restorative Yoga
    • Zumba

Cookie Potter

 
Cookie Potter is the fitness and wellness manager for CGCC's fitness centers.  She has extensive work experience within the health, fitness and wellness discipline and has been extremely active within the Maricopa Community College District providing employees, students and community members with motivation, education and resources to impact their well-being.  Most recently, Cookie served as the wellness coordinator for Rio Salado College and the district office.  Prior to her work at Rio, she coordinated the aerobics program at Scottsdale Community College.  Cookies a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Arizona State University and a master's degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University.  She is a licensed massage therapist and holds certifications in personal training, group exercise, yoga, Pilates and tai chi.  Cookies has also been a part of MCTV's "Fit Tips" providing a variety of health, fitness and wellness video clips to help improve the well-being of employees, students and community members.
